  2. 21,000 people die annually in the U.S. from long term Radon exposure that could have been caught and corrected.
  3. Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, gas the only way to know if it is invading your home is to have a test done.
  4. Radon can be invading any age home don't assume just because you own a new home it can't get in. Its in the ground everywhere.
  5. It is estimated that 1 of every 15 homes in the U.S. is at or above the recommended action level.
  6. Radon is only harmful when it is trapped in small spaces such as our basements. The particles attach to our lung tissue causing cancer. So if the level in your home is at 4pCi/L (Picocuries Per Liter) or greater you should contact a Mitigation specialist to have a system installed that vents this gas outside.

  1. Since Radon comes from the ground it enters our homes through the lowest point- a Slab, Crawlspace, or Basement.
  2. Cracks in the concrete.
  3. Open holes such as where wires, pipes, or sump pumps are located.
  4. Floor drains
  5. If there is Radon in the water when you shower or are washing dishes it is released into the air.
